Corbin now offers a 1.15-inch long, 30 caliber rifle jacket with a thin, tapered wall, ideal for the 130 to 168 grain bullets used in lower velocity 30 caliber rifles, or for redrawing to longer 284, 270, or 264 caliber jackets (with Corbin JRD-1 draw die).
The new jacket is 1.150 inches long. The thin walls give better expansion at 30-30 speeds and at velocities suited for plinking, light loads, and light weights than do typical .030-.040 wall hunting jackets. The length is well suited to full jacket designs (reverse the jacket so the base is open, rolled with a Corbin FMJ base rolling punch in the point form die) as well. The jacket ID will accept a .251 diameter lead core, and can use seating punches from aproximately 0.276 to .277 inch diameter depending on the length of core. The new jackets are drawn from high quality gilding metal stock, and are packaged in zip lock .004-mil poly bags. This prevents oxidation of the jackets in long storage, yet lets the user open and reseal the bag. Each bag contains 250 jackets. Corbin also offers the J-30-125 Versatile Benchrest jacket, a heavy shank design with thin front end, designed for high precision benchrest and big game. See price list. |
